Jernkontoret (The Swedish Steel Producers' Association) and its Technical Committees on Metallurgy are pleased to invite you, all  steel producers, as well as customers, suppliers and research organizations to the 3rd International Conference on Ingot Casting, Rolling and Forging, ICRF 2018 on 16-19 October 2018.

This 3rd ICRF Conference takes  place in Stockholm, Sweden – the Venice of the North and one of the most beautiful cities in Northern Europe - and follows two successful conferences held in Aachen 2012 and Milan 2014.

The first conference, in Aachen, reflected the strong need for increased activity and networking in ingot casting research after decades of decline due to the strong development of continuous casting technology. The conference led to a boom in research on ingot casting, which has gained further interest since then due to increased demands for high quality steels that are processed via the ingot cast route to give high  steel cleanness and low contents of inclusions.

The ICRF Conference 2018 will provide a forum to showcase technical development of ingot casting production beyond conventional practices and development of remelting processes for highest steel cleanliness. It will also focus on rolling and forging technologies so rolling manufacturers, forge masters and end-users have the opportunity to present current and future challenges for steelmakers, as well as new developments in forming technology, simulation and testing.

The conference is aimed towards a wide range of experts from plant operation, plant supply, machine construction, refractory industry, casting powder and cover flux products production, universities, research centers and institutes.

The direct exchange between the participants not only occurs within the oral presentations but also in the adjacent exhibition. ICRF 2018 stands for best practice technology and will give an effective overview of the state of art regarding ingot casting and forging.  We hereby invite all who are involved in the industry to gain new knowledge, exchange ideas and expand their personal network.

With joint efforts and enthusiasm, the conference will certainly live up to our expectations so we look forward to meeting you all in Stockholm!
